Facial Fillers | Restylane
Today, many people are showing increasing interest in correcting wrinkles and folds, shaping facial contours and augmenting the lips. With Restylane, you can offer your patients a complete solution for tissue-tailored facial augmentation – a natural beauty lift using the body's own material.
Restylane is a crystal-clear, biodegradable NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid) gel, which is injected into the dermis in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous, producing a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to the skin.
Since it was launched in 1996, Restylane has undergone extensive histological and clinical studies with an increasing body of evidence relating to its ease of use, tolerability and effectiveness. Today, more that one million treatments have been successfully carried out worldwide.
Natural beauty — made in Sweden
Restylane is a Swedish innovation dedicated to natural beauty. After decades of extensive research, Dr. engt Agerup and the company Q-Med in Uppsala, Sweden, succeeded in developing a method to stabilize non-animal, hyaluronic acid and forming a gel called NASHA. The first application of the HASHA gel, Restylane, was introduced in 1996.
Smoothing wrinkles
Smoothing out folds and wrinkles by adding volume can make an enormous difference toad patient's appearance and sometimes make them look several years younger. With Restylane, you can offer facial rejuvenation without the use of foreign elements. For the treatment of wrinkles or folds, Restylane is injected into the skin in small amounts with a very fine needle. The injected gel gives natural volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothed out. The results can be seen immediately. Treating wrinkles with Restylane is fast and safe – and leaves no scars or other traces on the face.
How a wrinkle occurs
As we age, the gyalu8ronic acid in the skin diminished as cells lose their ability to produce it. As a result, the skin becomes drier, thinner and less able to restore itself after squeezing or indentation. The loss os skin fullness also means that the skin becomes looser. All in all, these factors lead to wrinkling and an older appearance of the skin.
Sculpting lips
For many women, a fuller, more sensual mouth comes high on their wish list. With Restylane, you can offer a more pronounced mouth or a soft pouting look using the body's own material.
Lip augmentation is usually carried out in two steps – pouting and contouring. To create a more pronounced mouth and fuller lips, Restylane is injected into the upper and/or lower lip. This is often combined with the marking of the vermilion border by injecting the gel along the lip line. Redefining this edge leads to a more youthful and appealing look. The philtrum ridges can be defined by injecting the gel into the lines. To achieve the optimal result, a combination of these steps is often used.
Facial contours
Many people are looking for a slightly fuller shape for their chin. Just a touch of additional volume can make an enormous difference, giving the face a fuller or more defined appearance. Or perhaps you want a rounder, more sensual line along the cheeks to bring out that youthful innocence? Injected into the skin, Restylane Perlane corrects deep folds and lifts up the skin from the cheeks and chin, giving a new shape to the facial contours.
Advantages
With Restylane, you can offer your patients a complete, flexible solution for facial tissue augmentation, with the benefit of long-lasting, but not permanent, tissue-tailored products.
For optimal lift and augmentation, each Restylane product should be injected at different depths. Because various dermal layers are characterized by specific tissue structures, the sizes of the gel-particles in Restylane are tailored to match the tissue matrix density at recommended levels of injection.
As all Restylane products are naturally biodegradable, you always meet two important psychological criteria for your patients: choice and non-permanence. When satisfied with an initial treatment, a patient can choose to have a follow-up whenever he or she wishes. The non-permanence may initially seem like a disadvantage to clients. It is, however, important to point out the possible negative side-effects of a permanent treatment. With Restylane, your patients are always in charge of their looks, no matter what is in fashion in the future or which of the aging signs they prefer to focus on to correspond with the rest of their body.
The length of time the effect lasts is highly individual. It depends on many factors, such as the structure of the skin, lifestyle and age, as well as on the degree of perfection demanded by the individual. Unlike permanent treatments or implants, Restylane always offers the chance to re-evaluate the need when the initial effect has worn off. A follow-up treatment can be performed at any time after the previous treatment. In general, a follow-up treatment is required after 6 to 12 months. Clinical experience indicates that regular follow-up treatments add to the duration.
Clinical experience also indicates a longer duration of each Restylane product is injected as superficially as possible within the recommended tissue depth. This approach should take account of the location and size of the area that is being treated, patient requests, skin type and other factors.
