Ludim Camacho, RN

Ludim Camacho

"It's so important for us in healthcare to continue our education and stay on the leading edge of the latest developments and advances. I'm delighted to be able to apply what I've learned to help Contour patients look and feel their best."

Ludim Camacho joined The Laser Center at Contour Dermatology as a Patient Coordinator in June 2006. She then completed specialty dermatological training and became certified to perform laser treatments in 2008.

"Joining Contour was a great transition to a new and different professional environment," says Ludim, a 33-year nursing veteran who has worked in many aspects of the field from neonatal intensive care to home health for seniors.

"My mother was a nurse. It was a given that's what I would be, too. And I love it," states Ludim.

She grew up in Venezuela and Northern California. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Loma Linda University, she worked in the neonatal intensive care unit at Loma Linda Children's Hospital for two years. Then the family moved to New York where Ludim served as Assistant Director of a home health agency for several years. Returning to California in 1980, she worked as a Public Health Nurse in San Bernardino County, focusing on child abuse cases and family care. Prior to joining Contour, she worked as a service coordinator for developmentally disabled children at the Inland Regional Center in Loma Linda for nine years.

"Since I've had nearly every procedure done on myself, I know what the patient is going through, how it feels and possible side effects," explains Ludim. "That's been a big help, to experience this first hand and be able to communicate that with patients."

Ludim and her husband, Elber, live in Palm Springs. An Oncologist/Hematologist, Elber is Medical Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center. The Camachos have three daughters, two are grown and married and the youngest is in college. The Camachos also are supporters of Desert Cancer Foundation and the American Cancer Society. In her leisure time, Ludim enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren. She also works out with a personal trainer.
